Who We Are
Northwest Impact (NW Impact LLC) is part of the Northwest Side Community Development Corporation (NWSCDC), which has been serving Milwaukee since 1983. Northwest Impact was formed to spearhead the NWSCDC’s Neighborhood Renewal and Growth Initiative (NRG) in collaboration with Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and PNC Bank.
To bring the greatest outcome, NWSCDC has created a radius of one mile surrounding its main office at the Century City Tower, 4201 North 27th Street (Milwaukee, WI), to implement NRG. Within this one-mile radius, there are three smaller targeted neighborhoods which are the primary focus of the initiative. These three neighborhoods were chosen due to the abundance of foreclosed homes (both bank-owned foreclosures and City of Milwaukee tax foreclosed homes) found within these neighborhoods. In choosing smaller neighborhoods with higher percentages of foreclosures, NW Impact can cluster acquisition and redevelopment efforts to effectively reverse the foreclosure trend within these communities.
What We Do
The NRG Initiative has two primary objectives:
- Acquire Bank REO (Real estate owned) and City of Milwaukee-owned tax foreclosed properties. Rehab the properties, and assist first-time home-buyers to purchase them.
- Assist home-owners in active foreclosure by working in conjunction with HUD-approved housing counseling agencies who assist with mortgage default and foreclosure mitigation.
